5 Makeup Trends To Try This Summer.
The SS17 catwalks at last year’s Fashion Month were full of warm weather makeup looks that we couldn’t wait to try when summer 2017 rolled around. And now it has. Here’s the looks you should be rocking at all your long-awaited summer events.
One For All – Using one product on several areas of your face is a great way to get a unified look, enhance your natural colouring and save some money. It’s also good if you’re travelling and want to pack as little as possible. There’s lots of creative ways to do this, lipstick as blushers, blusher as eyeshadow, lip balm as a barely there highlighter. Or you can invest in specialist products like a two in one lip and cheek tint.
No Makeup Make Up – There’s two makeup movements going on in the beauty world right now that completely contradict each other. One is heavily contoured dramatic makeup artistry, an amazing look if you can do it but it’s not for everyone. The other is the complete opposite, wearing literally no makeup at all, a trend kicked off by Alicia Keys last year. However, not all of us are brave enough for that and sometimes using a few subtle products can give us the confidence we need to pull off this look. Dewy Glow – Giving your face a dewy glow with give you a youthful, fresh faced look which always feels very summery! Flower Power – What says summer more than flowers right? Incorporating flowers into makeup is something we haven’t really seen before but we are so intrigued by this look, as seen here on the Preen catwalk at London Fashion Week. We haven’t yet worked out how to do this look in a subtle fashion (if you figure it out please let us know!) so this might be one for the most daring CODERS to try out for us. Glitter Lips – Every summer glitter comes back in as we all get ready to sparkle at our favourite festivals. The standard look of previous summers has been incorporating glitter into your eye makeup but this year it’s all about the lips. This look first came to our attention at the Fendi catwalk at SS17 Fashion Month and now is the time to try it out. It’s important to look after your lips before applying harsher products such as glitter so keep them hydrated and super plumped by using CODE LIP every day, then get ready to get your glitter on!
