International Women's Day
Happy International Women's Day !
International Women's Day takes place on the 8th of March every year and is celebrated globally, recognising women’s cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements.
Even though it is important to celebrate, inspire and encourage women all year-round, international women's day is a chance to step back and look at all the women around us that inspire us and celebrate them. So, in honour of International Women's Day we decided to ask 4 women that inspire us some questions.
First up was Tracey McAlpine, founder of Fighting fifty. The magazine set out to change perception and break the rules. The magazine focus’s on beauty, health fitness and lifestyle breaking down barriers on how the media portrays people in their 50s and helps them embrace the second half of their lives.

Be yourself and do what works for you.
There seems to be so many new rules with the influx in social media, advice and tutorials but it’s really important to remember that what works for one person may not work for you. I’m going to give you an example…. New mascara is launched… it is supposed to be amazing… I try it… by lunchtime I’ve got smudges everywhere…. I go straight back to my CODE Beautiful.
Over time, I’ve realised that's MY mascara and I stick to it.
Who Inspires you ?
My Mum inspires me so much. She has always taught be to go for things in life, that nothing is out of reach and that I can have whatever I want if I am willing to work hard enough for it. She was such an influential part of my success.
What makes you happiest ?
I get so much pleasure out of teaching and helping people, it drives me forward to watch others succeed. But outside of work, my children make me happiest.
What is on your bucket list for this year ?
This year I am trying to prioritise my wellness. I have made so many positive changes to my lifestyle recently and I think its so important that we appreciate how important it is to schedule time for ourselves, despite our busy diaries. I want to get outside more, have new life experiences, and spend quality time with my loved ones whilst also fulfilling my passion to work.
Favourite Food ?
It used to be sugar…. But I have cut that out of my diet this year, so my new fave is a weird little vegetable called Samphire… you have to try it!
Favourite holiday destination ?
The Maldives… once you’ve been, nowhere else compares. I can’t wait to go back!
Favourite CODE product ?
The mascara CODE VLM has been in my makeup bag for years and no matter how many others I try, it's the BEST. I also love CODE LIP… it’s literally amazing and great as a day to day gloss.
